Conducted by Ministry of Women AffairsThe Ministry of Women’s Affairs (MoWA) is designed the Champion Awards. Which was Conducted for the very first time in Afghanistan. The Champion Awards identified Afghan men and women who have promoted women in economically, their social participation and have supported their rights.In this program, those who were chosen as champion who tried to support women socially and economically. Rehabilitation Association and Agriculture Development for Afghanistan (RAADA) has implemented many projects for Increasing women empowerment in the society such as, Gender Awareness Raising, Literacy Trainings/ Computer & English Classes for Women, Solving the barriers on the way of women through; Women and Uluma’s dialogue sessions and Awareness raising on women basic rights, Making women networking (1600 women), Women Lead Profit Company Establishment (Zanan-e- Herat Silk Production Company) that has 750 members, Internship Programs for Girls, Tailoring for More than 100 women and Milk Processing Center Establishment 28 Centers and created Job opportunity for 90 women. With regard to the activities mentioned, Dr. Nazir Ahmad Ghafoori, RAADA director participated in the Champion Awards program and he was recognized as a champion by Ministry of Women Affairs and got the champion award. This is a major achievement both for the RAADA and its donors.In this program 10 champions were introduced form all over Afghanistan who worked for empower women economically and socially. The Champion Awards is led by MoWA, with support from the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled, and civil society organizations including Empowerment Center for Women, Women Integrity for Society Empowerment Organization, and Afghanistan Learning Organization.
